We’re absolutely delighted to share that Tack and Jibe has won two British Marine sector awards, being named Business of the Year and winner of the Product or Service Award in the Boat Retailers & Brokers Sector.
For a young platform built around a simple idea — making buying and selling boats clearer, fairer and more enjoyable — this is a huge moment for us.
The awards, run by British Marine and voted for by members of the industry, recognise businesses and individuals helping to move the UK marine sector forward. That peer-voted element makes the recognition especially meaningful. These awards are not simply handed down from a panel in a boardroom; they reflect the views of people working within the marine world day in, day out.
For Tack and Jibe to be recognised by that community, and to come away with two awards, is something we are incredibly proud of.
A Win for the Whole Tack and Jibe Community
Tack and Jibe was created to offer a fresh approach to boat sales. We wanted to build a platform that gives brokers, dealers and private sellers a better way to present boats, while also giving buyers a more modern, useful and enjoyable search experience.
From the beginning, the aim has been to do things properly: clear listings, strong photography, straightforward tools, and a platform that feels built for today rather than inherited from another era.
Winning Business of the Year is a wonderful endorsement of that approach. It recognises not only the growth of Tack and Jibe, but the values behind it: service, trust, visibility and genuine enthusiasm for the boats and people that make this industry what it is.
Our Product or Service Award is just as exciting. Tack and Jibe has always been more than a listings website. We are building a wider set of tools and services for the marine trade, helping brokers and sellers reach the right buyers while giving boat hunters a better way to explore what is on the market.
Recognising Excellence Across the Marine Industry
We were also pleased to see so many excellent businesses recognised across the British Marine Boatbuilders and Boat Retailers & Brokers Sector Awards.
A particular congratulations goes to the Boat Building Academy, which was named Business of the Year in the Boatbuilders Sector. We recently filmed a short documentary with the team there, exploring their work, their students and the craft of boatbuilding.

The Boat Building Academy represents so much of what is special about the British marine industry: practical skill, deep knowledge, heritage, training and a real commitment to keeping craft alive for the next generation.
Looking Ahead
These awards now put Tack and Jibe forward to represent the sector at the British Marine National Awards, taking place later this year at the BMTA Awards Dinner in Southampton.
That is an exciting prospect, but for now we simply want to say thank you.
